Do you think I'll find a future partner at the convention?

I'm going to Supernova (Super Smash Con) for the first time this year. Based on that, you can probably tell that I'm a gamer. I just so happen to be going with someone else who wanted to compete in the doubles tournament, but I'm not into him like that. I kind of hope to find my future partner there, but I'm also terribly shy. But then again, I just might be able to meet someone since we'd have a common interest. Do you think I'll be able to find someone there?

In a general sense yes, there is always some rare chance to meet the man/woman of your dreams out and about whether it’s at a convention or any other public gathering. However I’d say you have a better chance at making new friends there instead because the average person isn’t going to this event hoping to find their future partner. The chances of finding someone who not only shares this hobby but aligns with everything that makes them a good match for you specifically are very slim. Not impossible though!

You'll probably have to put yourself out there, though. I'm willing to bet most would assume you're taken.
