I’m a independent because I agree with different points on both sides I’ll date or marry anyone on either side of the isle that being said if my spouse gets mad when I don’t agree with her on something that’s what I don’t want to deal with difference of opinion is good because it teaches everybody to be tolerant of things they don’t agree with and we need more of that right now

I'm a moderate. I've always preferred dating a liberal. They are wilder and more fun to date. Having said that, I'd rather marry a moderate or conservative. They are more stable.

I'm a centrist. I'm socially conservative, economically leftist.

I will say though that my interactions with both sides have shown me that liberals are surprisingly easier to reason with than conservatives. Of course ideally I would rather be with someone that fully adheres to my values and beliefs, but if I had to pick between a leftist girl and a conservative girl, I would pick the leftist.

Both sets of ideologies have their flaws, especially when they become radical. However, the radical right tends to be much more authoritarian on average, at least in the West (communism doesn't exist in America). Denial of science is common in both (trans = women for progressives vs vaccines not being effective for conservatives) and an intolerance to a difference in opinion can also be seen in both sets of ideologies, especially among radicals.

Today, America is the most polarized it's ever been, but that's only because the right has moved further to the right. The Democrats are at the same place they were in during the Obama administration, majority are centre-left with a minority of progressives. The GOP moved from the moderate right of Ronald Reagan into a far-right party under Donald Trump.

A GOP voter is more likely to be radical on average than a leftist for those reasons. Therefore, the slightest argument will have you labeled "woke" and a "fed" for not agreeing with them (believe me I would know because I'm on twitter) while on average a smaller percentage of liberals will call you bigoted/misogynistic/racist/homophobic etxc for disagreeing if you present then with substantial evidence that supports your argument.

Try to argue with a Trump voted about J6 and see the colorful language they'll use on you.

Therefore, a conservative woman in America is likely (but not always) a member of the GOP, and by extension more likely (at least in my book) of being more radical in today's terms in 2025 than a leftist woman on average. That's my observation as a centrist/independent.

Why does dating Today, resumes at.. Religion, Political views, etc? If she's a snorer or she sleeps only on the left/right side, that that means she's not the one? No wonder Women they Become Peaky too, don't like that one couse his nose is big, don't like that one couse only sleeps on one side of the bed.. etc, etc...🤦‍♂️

My experience is that political differences in a marriage are healthy. That's a way to learn things about the world you otherwise wouldn't have thought about.

Political differences in extended family tend to be less productive, in my experience. Probably best just not to raise politics with them.
