What role does vulnerability play in your relationships, and how comfortable are you being emotionally open?

Major role,  I can't conceive a relationship without sharing vulnerabilities. I view it as a necessary trade, without it, I could not understand her psychology and I need to do that. I'd even say she shouldn't trust me if that trade wasn't happening, but that's off-topic lol.  Comfort in sharing, it's a steep  learning curve  of some sort, I tend to open up slowly but surely. Unless I perceive an acute sense of understanding from her right in the beginning. In that case, it speeds up the whole path, it's still going to take weeks, most probably months !

“Vulnerability” is the go-to move when i’m ready for the relationship to end. I used to actually believe women when they said that they wanted a sensitive man. A great deal of experience has proven that to be nearly completely fallacious.
I’m fortunate that i had all but completely quit dating early in the rise of social media. I’ve seen some vindictive women post things about their exes that even the gods shouldn’t know.

I'm an open book. If they ask me what my deepest darkest secrets are, I share them. That's how you get close to people. You can't expect them or yourself to feel close without even letting them in. All you do is solidify that barrier you've created around yourself.

Well no matter what you have to be real and I would assume. That you know each other well if you going to be all the way open when you let so mmm done all the way in it. An be powerful and a deeper bond but when it's happening is a moment But you become one you pay attention. I’m not loved and desired for how vulnerable I am so it plays no role , when asked the top ten things that she loves me for , vulnerability does not feature.

Feelings are not something I readily communicate to anyone , and certainly not before being quantified , qualified and reasoned first in my own mind. Feelings can be fleeting and temporary or situational and dont necessarily mean anything at all , sometimes no more than a passing consideration based on a positive or negative moment. I deal in fact , in exactly what’s happening , not as seen through a lense that skews or colors my judgement.

I'm a guy so "being emotionally open" consists of giving a woman meaningless small insights to insignificant things that are going on in my life with a very sincere look on my face. Because that's all women are capable of handling. No matter what a woman says. Men will take the real shit to their grave and a woman will never know or ask. That's just the way it is between men and women. Men give and women take. Never the other way around.

So i try to associate with people who understand that this new age bullshit us just that: bullshit

I'm a romantic, so I can be tender and open with my feelings.
I can mist up over things that are touching or sad.
I'm not afraid to show emotion.

But I'm not sure if it's always beneficial to come off as vulnerable because it can be seen as weak, insecure, inept, belittling, whining, humble, damaged, manipulating or grasping for sympathy.

The people that know me generally call mecan emotionless robot, simply because I rarely express emotions, and I'm very closed off.

I didn't used to be that way, but I've been emotionally open & vulnerable in past relationships, and have gotten burned by the women who claimed to care about me. So I built walls around my emotions, and keep them locked up tight, as a survival mechanism.

I doubt I'll ever risk being emotionally open again. It's a death sentence.

I've never been good at being vulnerable and have developed a thick shield against it, allowed myself to do without nurturing and tried to be there for others while nit for myself. Brushed off my troubles and carried on regardless and crippled my soul to the point I would have preference to disappear but that's impossible ofc knowing the impact on others. Rock and a hard place there, but digging and climbing out has been a journey I hope will see brighter days.

Oh, that is a  necessity  in my relationships. Sure, some things are better left unsaid, but for the most part, we should be comfortable enough to share anything.
