At 28, certainly you’re using “boys” euphemistically, yes? Especially since you used the term in the same sentence as “woman”.


Boys generally don’t know what they want, just like girls. An important aspect of youth is figuring those things out about ourselves.
Many men don’t know what they want either, for a variety of reasons. We weren’t taught as boys that we can have preferences and boundaries the way girls are taught. Our bad behavior was rewarded by girls who didn’t apply reasonable boundaries themselves.
Boys and men who have preferences and set boundaries are frequently denigrated; often being called “misogynistic”, “afraid of commitment”, or something of the like.


Ultimately, some men know what they want and they do want a good woman. That doesn’t necessarily mean that they are demonstrating that they deserve one. We’re not terribly different from women in that way.
I believe the prevailing fantasy for some men is to be the man who tames the wild woman. He wants the good woman who is only good for him; also a common female fantasy.
