I think everyone does early on in life when we don’t have the experience needed to distinguish between friendly affection and romantic affection


It wasn’t easy watching the person I was practically falling for in silence go about her life never knowing it on account of the friendship


Wishing for a movie-like situation where she finally sees that all she ever wanted was here the whole time


That never came to pass.


So now I know better.
If I like someone she will know it and know it fairly quickly.
I don’t play the long game anymore
And it’s 1000% more effective because people respond to assertiveness, especially women

Yup, only the once though. This guy in college was absolute model hot (and was actually a model as his side gig). He was 6'3, dark full hair, the body, the dimples, the full physical package but more importantly, my god, he was just a wonderful human being. For my birthday, he gave me the most amazing gift that made me cry on the spot, he always called when he said he would and we would talk for hours with him legit being interested in what I was saying, he invited me to hang out for a couple of parties, and in the middle of the day, he'd be sending me funny texts. I kept waiting for this man to "see me" and ask me to marry him, LOL! All my friends and his friends thought we would make an amazing couple. After college, we lost touch, he moved to another country, and when I looked him up years later, turns out he had found himself, and come out of the closet. As they say, the good ones are all married or gay, go figure.
