30F and I just don’t get it, this is feeling personal at this point. I know OLD apps are hot garbage but they’ve been even worse for the past ~3 years. The rate I’ve been ghosted is just nutty along with the unmatching very very early on or passive behavior etc. I was speaking to this guy on the app for maybe ~2 wks, he was normally pretty quick in responding. It was a casual convo, I’d reply maybe once a day or every other day etc. Nearing the end, he wanted us to find a game we can play since we’re on diff gaming systems & asked for my #. I gave it, actually try to be a bit more responsive now since we’re past the app & he takes a little over 24 hrs to reply. Literally we exchange 2 msgs & such a long response time? If you didn’t want to talk then why ask for my #? You say you’re exhausted in your last message but if someone is interested, they’ll always find a way. I just expect communication to be a bit more responsive via text vs on the app

I know that apps can be successful, I’ve gone to one Match and one Tinder wedding, but I feel like if it’s just repeatedly not working out then that’s the sign that it’s either not for you or to take a break. I was on and off different things throughout my 20s and the most during covid. Not a single connection worked out, and after so many ghosting’s, disappointments and just the sheer lack of quality men on these apps I got off. Just not worth it. That was when I turned 29 and met who I’m with now at 30, by chance on a night out, not online. It can still happen naturally even when I was sure it wouldn’t and couldn’t.

Just remember that some people are talking to multiple people at once, so responses go more to the ones that interest them the most. When they do find someone, they click with they will usually stop communication, or even ghost everyone else, just not necessarily nixing them altogether. That is to make sure they have someone to fall back on if it doesn't work out. That's just the way the dating game is played.

People nowadays talk to multiple people. He probably hit it off more with someone else before you gave the number. That's just how the dating culture is now.

Texting is relationship toxic. Try to get away from it. Your brain writes narratives that are often not true and sometimes completely wrong.
