I think what makes it worth the risk is the fact that you like someone enough to take that risk. Honestly, a lot of times the higher the risk the higher the payout can be true. Such as someone you’ve been friends with for a while. While yes, it could end in awkwardness if both people are mature about it though you can remain friends. But at the same time there is a more genuine bond built between both people.

But that’s not to say approaching someone can’t lead to a amazing relationship either that you don’t know super well. Just be careful.

Just knowing that someone seems like material to build a relationship with in addition to feeling attracted.
