A woman who had been on a date before, and she said she really enjoyed it, invited me to go see some movies at her house and have dinner, and if I wanted to sleep over. She said she needed company that day. She bought fish for dinner; she knew I really liked fish, and she said she bought it for me. Afterwards, we went to watch a movie on the couch, and I stayed in my space without making physical contact. Then she told us to go see another movie, but this time in her bed. I stayed in my space, a little away from her in bed, and didn't make physical contact with her. After that, we slept in the same bed. The next time I met her, it seemed like she was very upset; it even seemed like she wanted me to leave her house quickly. I texted her when I got home, and she seemed very dry in her response, and since then, we haven't spoken since a week ago. Do you think she was upset because I didn't try anything with her?

Maybe she’s upset because you didn’t try  anything  at all. Sex is one thing, I think it’s great you weren’t one of those guys who’s pushy about it. But no kiss, no cuddling, not even an attempt to have your arm around her shoulder during the movie or hold hands. In my opinion you were very respectful, but since you’ve already had a first date where I assume you didn’t try anything, she may have hoped for even a kiss. Things like this make some women feel rejected or unattractive.

Probably, yes. As for her making a move? She did. Asking a grown man to sleep over, making him dinner and sharing a bed is pretty much serving herself up on a platter. You reasonably should have known her stance from that so it was your turn to reciprocate interest.

All that said mate, if you just message the girl and tell her you were nervous, preferably with a genuine compliment to match, I would consider a second chance likely.

She's probably confused. Why would you go to her house, sleep in her bed and not at least talk to her about anything physical?
