How does it feel to be tall?

Well, let's see...

It's kind of nice being able to see over everyone's head, especially in a crowd. That way you always have a view, instead staring at everybody's ass and back.

It's nice having people comment on how tall you are, like a mix between a compliment and awe. It's nice being able to reach things, and help others reach things, too.

Having to constantly watch that you don't bump your head is a little annoying, especially if you have hanging lamps. Riding in a car can be really uncomfortable, too, because you're either hunched over, or banging your head.

Find clothes that fit can be a pain, too, because you specifically have to buy clothes from the "tall" section, and for some reason, most of those also aassume you weigh 400lbs, so you either get clothes that are too short, or really gigantically loose.

Most objects are meant for shorter people. So things like mowing the grass, washing the dishes, and cooking can really hurt your back, because you have to stay bent over to reach all of it.

Forget riding in an airplane or a train. The seats are way too small, and you end up with your knees jammed into the seat in front of you the entire trip, which is not only uncomfortable, but painful over an extended period.

Don't get me wrong; I like being tall, but it definitely has its downsides, too.

I'm asked at least once a week, "how tall are you". It means crouching down to look in mirrors as all are hung chest high. It means not being able to drive compact cars because you knees hit the dash. It means struggling to find clothes that fit (even at big and tall stores, because big and tall stores ate more for big and less for tall). In my case it means not being able to wear goodies because even if I find one that fits me in the arms, it won't after the first time I wash it. So along with this I mostly wear short sleeve shirts. Which make dress shirts a nightmare to find. It means suffering in sodium seating and kind of having to sit with your knees at an angle.

Other than that, not much difference.🤣

i feel like its probably not much different than being short besides for shopping, people's comments, and i can reach/see better. maybe if i were taller (i'm 5'10) it'd be way more different

altho being this tall in 7th grade was not cool lol i think being a teenager is where our experiences are really different, WHICH i won't write an essay about

There is a much higher risk of bumping our heads on things and having back trouble. It can be a challenge to get into small vehicles. It's useful for reaching and in some sports.

You only remember it at times. Either when someone points it out Or when you need to buy clothes and shoes Also if there’s an activity with a height limit as well But overall it feels great

I’m taller than average but not very tall. I’m 5’8. I work with women many who are shorter than me as a house cleaner at a hotel and they have asked me before to get things done from shelves were they couldn’t reach
