Sounds like abuse, you might want to highly consider who you choose as a partner, if I'm not mistaken most domestic violence cases that aren't prevented by separation eventually all end in one killing the other, it's best to avoid people that are willing to put their hands on others without proper or necessary cause, such as self defense or defense of another individual, people that put their hands on others are showing a clear sign of a form of insanity or instability.
