At this point I really kind of want to find someone a little younger. Maybe she’d like that I’m a little older, and I’d honestly like the fact that she’s a little younger, like early to mid, mid/late 20’s… maybe like 23-28 or so.

I don't know, I’ve been so single my whole life I don’t even care anymore either really. It is what it is. Whatever.

My birthday is tomorrow. Im turning 34. I've not given up on getting a girlfriend but I'm also not holding out hope. My last date was almost 7 years ago. Wish I had some advice to offer but I dont. Try to focus on your job, your friends, your health, etc.

For sure. I feel need to get back to the gym. I have a good amount going for me right now, but really need that raise at work to keep up with inflation. So definitely focusing on the right things, just a matter of time. I honestly don’t put much thought into women so at least it isn’t a distraction or money sink at the moment.

I think you need to recognize that as a guy, this is unlikely to fall into your lap.

And the common advice to just keep your head down and focus on work and your male friends or whatever - I think that is avoidant behavior.

If you want to date women, you have to practise that skill. You have to put yourself in places where the women you want to date congregate. You have to interact with them.

It might not be (in theory), but it probably should be. It really isn't a good climate for it lately though... and honestly you're not missing much. Relationships are nice to have, but they're way WAY too high-maintenance... and right now the zeitgeist is very firmly rooted in low-investment disposable relationships. Bad place to be. Bad time for it.
