Guys, He wants to stay the night?

Talking to a guy 3 weeks. I know him as a friend before we started talking. He lives 2 hours away in a different city. He assumed he would be staying over due to the distance. He is disappointed that I'm asking him to go home later that day after the date. Is it unreasonable of me to not let him stay over on our first date?

I’m split on this. I say no if he was a complete stranger. But considering the fact that you said you two were friends before you started dating makes me think different. So let me ask this. This friendship, have you two hung out as friends before. Or he’s just a “friend” through chat? If so then no nothing wrong w you not wanting him to stay over. If he was a friend technically he’s still a friend, so if you had an extra room he could sleep in there. But if you two have never actually hung out as friend, just talked as “friends,” then no he can stay at a hotel.

Is ok if he doesn't get to spend the night. Because you're setting your boundaries and that's what you n get a motel room if you ask to spend the night. Oh, yes, to do is explain your reasons. And if he does not respect that then he doesn't respect you

Not unreasonable. But it might depend if you sprung it on him. Like if it's 2 a. m. and the date is ending it means he's still got 2 hrs. to drive. But no, definitely NOT unreasonable. If he feels you sprung it on him it's his fault for not asking earlier and not cutting the date shorter.
