I've been gradually giving up on love for a long long time. If you try to reach out to a lot of people for years, and they don't have no interest in reaching back, it gets harder and harder to force yourself to keep trying. I always feel that if a man gets to the place to where his sex drive is no longer strong enough to motivate him to keep trying, then He's gotten to a really bad place emotionally. I know cause I'm at that point now! I think a good sign that someone has given up on love is that they just don't show any interest in it. In my case, I stopped listening to love songs because they make me feel pain.

They don’t seem interested as they previously were, maybe try communicating / reaching out and if it fails then it seems they’ve given up.

If they were once very affectionate , supportive , and happy in the relationship then became distant whether gradual or sudden , try reaching out for an answer. Though if it fails, might be time to let it go.
