How do you feel about a big age gap?

My best friend and I are very attractive looking people, so younger guys like us. I don't have an issue with big age gaps. Older man/ younger man, I don't know. I prefer quality above quantity. It's not about the age gap (quantity), it's about the quality of the relationship.

Now my bestie met a younger guy. Younger than her usual gap. 15 years gap, I think. I told her to go for it. She's concerned about what people are going to say.

Why is society soooo against an age gap when it's the woman who is older.

Older men gets the "good for you, way to go man". And women gets the "shame on you. or His mind is not done developing yet. Or, you are manipulating him".

Other than, it won't work, his eyes will wonder. Older women have lower drive. Give me a legit excuse.

A man's eyes are GOING to look whether he's old or young. I'm not bias, a woman's eyes too. Low drive... Pft. That's just a mindset or a lack of love. That happens even in same age relationships. So those excuses doesn't count.

So why is it so "wrong" for an older women to date/marry a younger man. What's up with the double standards?

I really don’t think men have an issue w it as far as the female being older. I think it’s more so women, especially women who have children cause they relate that to their child’s age saying he could be your son. Plus the female obviously is the one who carries the child for 9 months so she has more of that bond w their child. They see other young kids in that same way because they think of their son, so to a lot of women it may seem weird or creepy. I hope that makes sense. Yes you could say the same to a man but men tend to not think in that way. Some do but a lot of men would still get w a younger girl. Maybe it would be different for us as men if we had that bond w our daughter the way women do from birthing the children. Maybe I’m wrong. At the same time most men dating an older female is more so for fun, it’s usually not something serious. When I was 25 I messed around w a nurse who was 43. She sure taught me a lot, but it was never going to be something serious for a number of reasons.

Yes i dont mind them. When I was just about 17 I was babysitting for a lady and when she got home the lady she went out with asked if I wanted a ride home I said yes and she lived like 2 blocks from my house. .. we stopped by he house first and one thing lead to another and another. For just about a year. She was 47. But I would change it for anything it was fun until the day she told me she was getting back with her husband. I didn't know she was even married. The said part is the day she told me she had a black eye. I was pissed she ended up me 21 of her friends that was thirty seven and I saw her for about 6 to7 months. And she wasn't married lol I didn't even think about age then I felt we were equal.

Don't feel anything. Im married to an older man myself. I have noticed that when its younger man/older woman the younger men aren't looking to get into a relationship long term and if they do its only for a few years then they meet a woman their own age or younger and marry them.

Society’s hang-up with older women/younger men reeks of outdated sexism. The ‘concerns’ are just recycled misogyny:

‘His brain isn’t developed!’ – But a 50-year-old man dating a 25-year-old woman? Crickets.
‘You’ll manipulate him!’ – Because women are schemers, and men are helpless puppies? Please.
‘It won’t last!’ – As if same-age couples never divorce.
The truth? A 15-year gap with mutual respect, attraction, and aligned goals works exactly as well as any other relationship. The backlash? Just noise from people who can’t handle a woman owning her desire without apology.

I don't think it is as much of a double standard as you think. If I were to go for a woman in her early twenties I would be called a dirty old man, so I avoid such women. Nobody younger than half your age plus seven years. This is a wise calculation because the seven year part takes into account the younger partner's maturity. A fifty year old man dating a twenty year old woman would be a dirty old man. An 80 year old man dating a 50 year old woman would still be a 30 year age gap, but a 50 year old woman is not in any sense of the word a naive little girl, so if she wants to date an 80 year old there is nothing wrong with that.

It feels a little weird when the age gap is huge like a 40 yr old dating a 20 yr old. I just don't like it.

As long as everyone knows what they're getting into, go for it. I love age gaps and have had all good experiences with younger and older.
