I date someone because I find them attractive, perhaps because I've made friends with them.

I don't have a conscious ulterior motive of finding a life partner, though I suppose this would be my ultimate goal.

The benefits of dating someone is obviously sex and happiness, but I don't plan or expect them from a date.
