This guy on a dating app texted me and tried getting to know me, but he mainly just kept telling me I’m really pretty. He mentioned a few times that he was attracted to me or that he liked my personality, but then he also said I seemed dry. One time, I told him I was with my family playing card games, and he kept saying it felt like he was bothering me. I told him he wasn’t, but he kept repeating it anyway. Then he said he wanted me to change my personality.

After that, I deleted my account because dating apps don’t really work for me. Later, when I joined a new app, he texted me “hi,” and on his profile there, he wrote that he has a fear of falling in love.

Tbh I don’t think it matters what his goals or intentions were. I say that because none of our answers will give you closure or clarity only he can do that since it’s his own behavior. I think what you should focus on instead is moving forward rather than looking back. You made the right choice in my opinion, it sounds like he wasn’t very sociable and kept projecting that onto you as if you’re the one with a dry personality just because he can’t keep the convo going. You would’ve dealt with a lotta that plus gaslighting for sure.

I don’t think he knows what he wants. But from the sounds of it, he might like you for how you look and nothing else really; just saying he wanted you to change your personality when you aren’t even dating tells me he might not like who you are as a person. If by any chance you like him for whatever reason, ask him some random questions and see his responses. His answers will clear things up for you

He's not in fear of falling in love because that's his goal and no matter who it is he's going to try to change their personality and who he wants them to be. He's a total red flag. I would be very careful if I was you. And if you did not go back on to the same.
