How much does personality play into your initial attraction to someone?

For example, you are in a group social, and you find the guy to be average looking, but then you talk to him and like his personality. In that moment, do they become more physically attractive to you, or does it stay the same? I am not talking about being more attracted in general. I mean, do you find them to be more physically attractive after being attracted to their personality.

It doesn't matter how physically attractive a girl is if she has a shitty personality. Having a compatible personality is just as important physical attraction. But initially, all we see is their looks. You find out personality and how compatible you are by talking to the person.
