8 moWould be completely up to why the person was homeless, wouldn't it?
Some people are temporarily homeless because they're between jobs and are sleeping on someone's couch while job hunting. And if someone is jobless, it doesn't seem rational that they'd want to date, would it? They couldn't afford to.
However, if someone was homeless because they were drug addicted, alcoholic, mentally ill, or some combination of the former, and they consistently and prefer to live on the street, that would be a hard "No." Their situation would be endemic and it is likely they are not and will never seek the help they need to live normally and thrive socially, emotionally and physically.Evaulate the "why" and steer away from someone who thinks homelessness is "freedom." They aren't well, and no friendship or relationship with them will succeed.

8 moSure, you can go on a date to the homeless camp, meet his family, and have dinner out of a McDonald's dumpster. The end of the night comes when the cops round every homeless person up and ships them off to a detention camp for the homeless.

626 opinions shared on Dating topic. No I wouldn't. And this is the reason why...
I believe the best relationships are the ones that build up slowly. If you date a homeless person it's impossible to let this person sleep on the streets when you care about him/her. So automatically you will be kinda forced to take that person in with you. Immediately start living together is a recipe for failure, that's something I learned personally. Moving in together to soon doesn't give you the opportunity to get to know someone properly and that will bring tentions between you and the person you're dating10 Reply
8 moProbably not if I just saw them as a homeless person. However how would I know if someone had a home or not? I think that judgement comes from how a person looks. So if I didn't know they were homeless by their looks to judge them on that yes I'd date that homeless person.

@Blacksnake285 First of all He has a woman. Second money has nothing to do with it. He’s a good man, hard working and has a wonderful personality. Third he’s not a D!€k like you! So yes of course he has a woman!
8 moThe world is full of judgmental people not everyone who is homeless is homeless because they deserved it. of course there is the classical reasons to why one is homeless whether that is criminal activity, drug use alcoholism or simply refuse to find work.
I am currently helping an old school mate. Who became homeless yeah he kept it a secret from everyone and it wasn’t very easy to tell. He has a job is going to school to become a nurse and even has a pet dog. He is always well kept and clean.
He had been scammed. It was a realtor scam. They hacked his account and he took every penny he had. The hackers were from overseas, and there was nothing that can be done about it. He spent quite a bit to relocate only to find the place he paid for would not be his and now his bank was cleared.
when I did discover his secret. I told him he could stay in my basement. He could continue to study and he didn’t have to spend so much on doggy daycare because the elder dog would have a place to stay too while he is working or at school.
he had a rough time, but that doesn’t make him a bad person. He has a good heart. Thank you for school and taking care of an elderly sick dog is not an easy task when you hit rock bottom but he never gave up. he did not give up on his schooling or taking care of of his dogs medical needs.
Then the other hand, I myself know what it’s like to be homeless. I had to give up everything that I owned even quit a job in 2008 which might take home was about 1000. I had to escape an abusive relationship with my child and the moment that I saw an opportunity to make my run I left just to clothes on my back, My car, a baby bag, a car seat and my baby. The furniture I had in my apartment the rest of my clothes, I electronics my computer dishes, etc., or not as important than my daughter safety.
I went into hiding in a DV shelter until I was able to move to another state where I had to stay a couple months in another shelter I applied for one job after another. it took some months to get back on my feet but I did.
sometimes we go homeless due to struggles out of our control and sometimes it’s a great sacrifice I could’ve stayed perhaps in the job that was making me a lot of money and get an apartment on my own, but it was dangerous for my child so I decided it was best to start from scratch and far away.
my friend, could’ve chosen to quit school or even give up his elderly sick dog to cut back on the cost and find a cheap apartment but he chose to keep the dog and stay in the school program and now things are turning around for him. He has interviews at the local hospitals.
One of the better known cases about homelessness would be the case of Chris Gardner. His story was the foundation for the movie
https://www.youtube.com/embed/DMOBlEcRuw8Being homeless doesn’t defy a person not every homeless person out There is bad or deserves what they got. For some it’s a temporary moment of difficult sacrifice until their back on their feet.

8 moI have a friend who is formerly homeless. She said being homeless is easier if a woman than a man. She said guys often hit on her at coffee shops and she was able to a find a place to stay most nights. She said most guys usually provided a meal (usually breakfast), something to wear (one of his tshirts), a place to sleep (bed, sheets and pillow) and usually a cheap toothbrush and toothpaste. Sex was expected. Some wanted to do bondage.

Most also provided her with a shower (soap, shampoo, etc.) with the understanding that she and he would shower together.

So she was actually a prostitute - receiving something of value for sex? 😯
- 8 mo
Not a prostitute

8 moNO , HELL NO.
Let’s be honest , the majority of people that are homeless have mental or drink / drug dependency issues and while I sympathize with their predicament if they cannot help themselves then they aren’t worthy of my time.. sorry if that seems brutal , just being honest
I’d rather stick my d*** in a blender10 Reply - 3.4K opinions shared on Dating topic.
8 moIt depends on a lot of things. One big one is if she has severe mental illnesses, because most homeless do. Also if she is addicted to drugs its a hard pass. If she's in a shelter, its a plus, if she's under a bridge or in a card board box, its a hard pass.

8 moI remember this question was asked a while back and a friend of mine said he would. He said it's a great arrangement, because when the date is over, he can drop her off anywhere he chooses 😂😂

If he was nice he would drop her off at a hotel , on him, for a few days to get cleaned up and eat something good from room service.

20 Reply892 opinions shared on Dating topic. Yes I would and I did!! He was a homeless VET. Did 10 years in the U. S. Navy and still ended up homeless.
13 Reply- 8 mo
Were you also homeless at the time?
- 8 mo
Being in the service isn't worth squat anymore. The US treats their vets like used commodities and the VA is a joke. There are too many homeless vets that would attest to this. According to the VA’s most recent National Veteran Suicide Prevention Annual Report (2024), an average of 17.6 veterans die by suicide every single day. Although this figure is widely accepted, the real number may be even higher. That is totally disgusting!
2.1K opinions shared on Dating topic. Sure, would likely bury them in the wall Gacy style though...
Joking aside, I highly doubt a homeless person is going to be someone to be dating.

00 Reply 8.4K opinions shared on Dating topic. It depends. Some people can become homeless through a bad series of circumstances. I would not hold that against them. Some people just cannot hold down a job. I would think differently..
