I remember hearing these words exchanged calmly yet with meaning by a couple in a 4WD who sounded like they were having a middle aged "lover's tiff" aka "petty squabble" typical of long relationships.

They were pumping gas. ⛽ I thought to myself, and this is so many years ago, "lol, that couple is either unhappily married or I can smell the juicy divorce papers someday if I was a divorce lawyer"

Ah yes, trouble in paradise. You'd think some folks would just be happier / grass is always greener on the other side ✅🐍😈

Men and women should respect each other and try to comply with each other's wishes. The whole "obey" thing brings up the thought of subjugation of her free will and choice. I don't want to do that to a woman. If she's OK with me leading because that's her comfort zone, fine, I can do that. But if she disagrees, I want her to speak up and tell me, not sit there angry and feeling like she doesn't have a voice.

Not blindly—healthy relationships are about mutual respect, not one person having to obey the other. Both partners should listen, compromise, and make decisions together rather than one just following orders.

Hard to say. Few women are actually consistent on what they want and what they SAY they want. So I'd say listen to the woman unless every experience in your life has taught you what the woman is saying is wrong.😆
