Asking a coworker out for coffee?

Looking for some outside feedback for my situation.

Long story short, I find myself very attracted to one of my coworkers. She usually smiles and laughs when we talk in passing.

Yesterday after the shift I asked her out for coffee and she smiled and said she doesn't know. She works part time so I asked for her number saying it could be two weeks before she works again. She said she works Monday.

I know that anything besides a yes is a no but Im kinda wondering whether she might need time to think about it or if she was caught off guard.

I dont wanna push too hard but I dont want to give up easily and let things die down. I know women tend to prefer men who are persuasive because they dont want to make things too easy.

First thing first. You never ever attempt hanky-panky with a coworker. That is the rule number one to avoid conflicts at the workplace. You don't really know anything about that target person. She could be in a relationship, have a boyfriend or someone else from work may have an eye on her.

Now, what is your ultimate goal, your final aim to ask this girl out for a coffee? Obviously, if all conditions are met, it is to ultimately get into her pants. That's what 99% of the men want when they start flirting with women.

My only advice to you is to drop it and not to insist on having a coffee with her. The fact that she refused to give you her number is indicative that she is not really interested and that she needs time to find an excuse.

I would give it a little time, maybe if you do see her Monday bring it up again and if she still gives less than sure or a no then don’t bring it up again.

I'm sort of torn because I'm not sure how we left it. I mean the ball is in her court and since she was hesitant to give me her number which is totally fine, she did say she works on Monday so I'm not sure how to read it.

I mean she didn't say no, perhaps she needs those couple of days to think about it. Kinda uncharted territorry for me. Usually used to rejection.
