Girls, Do you feel weird if a male colleague asks you out for coffee?

Yeah I would feel weird about it because that sounds like a date but is ambiguous enough that it also might not be. Dating a coworker can lead to some complications at work (the risk wouldn't be worth it to me unless I really was smitten with them and trusted them).

The most uncomfortable situation though is when you're being hit on by a coworker you aren't interested in. It puts you in an awkward situation.

I agree. I’ve never been big on pursuing people at work because if things go south it can get awkward. Most people look at work to do their job, earn a pay cheque and go home. It’s just that this has caught my attention but I don’t know if it’s worth it to pursue. Her and I talk normally, it’s not awkward. She is nice to me and I catch her glancing from time to time. Although just going up and saying hey do you want to go out for coffee would make her react like … oh, um sure. But feel odd about it. Im a guy so to me doing that wouldn’t be odd but I get that for a girl it would be.
