I do it all the time and that's cause we learn from the third perspective, it's not a personal opinion from personal experience, it's a general observation from one to several none personal experiences, the fact that their emotions aren't mixed in their advice, opinions and advice I think should make it very reliable when it comes to general dating advice, unless you are looking for something so specific it requires personal experience I think a logical emotionless source of information can be quite helpful.

that's like saying a current soldier serving 20 years in the military who has never been to war has nothing useful to give to recruits even if he/she is relaying information that was given to them from retired veterans who saw combat

someone whom receives Brad Pitt's advice is not as successful

he/she passes that advice to someone else
