I told my flatmate that I like her. And she has completely cut me off and told me that I am the smallest person that she met.
She can't even look at me.
It makes me feel like a criminal.

It's not wrong, but it's because many women react as terribly/rude/unclassy/trashy as that, that men don't want to say anything.
