When I was that age? No. It would have gotten plenty of bad reactions.

But my first serious girlfriend was 16 when I was 14 so, who am I to judge really?

For the average 13 and 16 year old we are comparing a grown child to a young adult. As far apart as 18 and 35.

I can't really say if it is okay or not. I doubt it is illegal. But the gap between those ages is far more than it looks like on paper.

I genuinely think you can compare it to 18 and 35. Legal but who wouldn't raise an eye at it?
Nearly twice as old mentally as far as hormones and adult stuff goes. I'd stick to dating closer to my age. But well, I did date older people as a kid, but I was also maturing too quickly.

Considering how much a person grows up between the aged of 12 and 17 I would say no it’s not a good idea


Now assuming where you live the age of consent is 18, that would mean both 16 and 13 are minors and there’s nothing illegal about them frequenting one another


Still if I had a 13 year old kid I would advise against getting intimate with a 16 year old

I tend to think about it in terms of percentages more than the actual number difference and so at that age, I'd say that's too much of a gap.

Yes, why wouldn't it be? There's only 2 to 3 years difference. The only hassle's gonna be, when the older turns 18, they'll have to wait a few years for the younger to turn 18, too.
I used to work with a guy that used to date a girl a few years younger than him and when he turned 18, he told her that he'd wait for her. He did and they are now great-grandparents.

I don't have any dating experience, so I really don't know... but I know some examples when I was that age... there were actually some guys and girls dating at that age.
