Trending & News At that point, yes, I say it is completely fine. Obviously, many more factors can make this relationship not work, but the age gap isn't one of them. If It were an 18 and 29-year-old, that would be very different. At 26, a person's brain has officially been fully developed. You are usually out of school and making your own decisions. There is nothing that a 26-year-old and 37-year-old can't do together, like smoking, drinking, and other various things.
In comparison, an 18-year-old hasn't experienced adulthood or settled into their adult life. That young person doesn't have a fully developed decision-making sense and doesn't have too much wisdom when it comes to sex, money, or anything that makes a relationship stable. Age isn't just a number all of the time. It is on a case-to-case basis.
You two are in two different chapters of life. He is trying to settle down and find a good wife, while you are full of life & energy. He won't be able to keep up. When it is 8:00pm, he is ready for bed, but you might want to go out and party. Find someone around your own age.
From my own experience, I have watched a lot of young ladies try to be in relationships with older men. She may not be into partying no more, but that doesn't mean she has the same maturity level as someone who is nearly 40.
@1975Chocolate you don’t really know that to assume that. She’s past 25 which is the end of a fully developed brain. For all you know, she may be more mature than him.
Okay? I just don't see what a 26 year old woman and a 37 year old man has in common. There is a lot of details that are left out here. We only know their ages. We could assume that the 26-year old could be his daughter's friend (not saying she is). At the end of the day, I am happy with whatever choice he/she makes.
@1975Chocolate a 37 year old man typically is not going to have a daughter old enough to have a 26 year old friend. It’s the point being that you can’t say they aren’t completely compatible when you don’t know either of them
Yeah, but there are chances she might realise she's young & can have any guy she wants later in the life when you cross 50
Yes, the best age gap is 10-15 years.

I guess depends on the two people. She’s at an age where she’s going to want kids and marriage if she’s an average female, do you want all that?
That's really not as bad as an 18 year old and a 50 year old
I think it’s ok
