What has been your experience dating men in tech?

Cue the ominous software engineer 😆. If you live anywhere tech centered you know they don’t have the best rep for things like lack of social skills or being fixated on work and negligent to relationships. Among those with social skills, not previously married w/kids, the options become very narrow.

I’ve definitely had my share of dating app exchanges with them, but I’d love to hear how others experiences have been and if I should just take my best pick of them and hope for the best because I’m truly ready to settle down. I’d rather not be a stepmom but would consider for the right one.

I'm Seattle and am surrounded by software engineers. These guys are all very bright, generally quite nice, with diverse interests. Some are serious skiiers, one is into competitive sailing, one is a top boulderer (free rock climbing, but not very high, some are into cooking, woodworking, some are musicians. "Take my best pick" -- don't do that. It's not fair to you or the guy. If you aren't happy to be with someone, just end it.

Being in IT myself, my guesstimate would be… it’s 50/50 between socially competent enough and socially inept? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
In any case, you would have to do more „work“, especially in the beginning.
