What's the best part about getting to know someone new?

Don't get me wrong. I love meeting new, friendly, nice people.
It's just that I used to be so blind and thought everyone was trustworthy like me.
That all changed when I was moving into my new apartment and my hired helper lady stole my belongings and took off and I never saw them again.

Plus she ripped me off another time before that when my old apartment was flooded and I had to get out quickly with just a few items. She had the key to that apartment and stole a lot of my things. These things meant a lot to me.
I didn't even know she had done that until about a year later.
I have a new caregiver and I don't trust her. Some of my coffee cups are missing. Then last week I had a really cute paper towel holder for my kitchen that was really cozy looking. I found it broken Friday and asked her why she thought I wouldn't notice it was all broken. She denied she had anything to do with it being broken. I told her to leave and not come back until she brings me a new one just like the one I had. I kicked her out of my apartment.
I asked her if she would like me to go to her house and break her things and then say I didn't do it?
I'm kinda sick of people anymore.

For me, it's learning all the similarities they have with me... their views, their interests, their sense of humor, what their goals are in life... you name it. The more I have in common with that person, the more I tend to like them, get along, and have fun with them.

Oh, this is a fun question. Living in such a small town I haven't met anyone new (At least long enough to get to know) for a long time. Until coming here online! Yay! And it's been fun 'cuz it's kind of like being back in school but without homework or detention. I'm learning who's the cool kids, who's the nerds, who's the jocks, the cheerleaders , the stoners, and all the other social roles we all play. And who are the kids I can sneak out back with for a qwik smoke. 😊

That doesn't really answer the question tho does it? I'm pretty good at avoidance that way. 🤣

I meet new people almost everyday. The best part is hearing their "story". Every one has a story and they are all different. Sad at times, happy at times, full of romance, full of dreams... I feel people see me as someone they can open up to and I love that! Everyone has beaten the odds in way or another and I enjoy them telling me. Even though I just met them.
