I worked with a woman and yeah I know she isn’t interested my buddy says she just wanted to have a conversation. I reply with I rather not and it’s a waste of time because so many of them just flirt lead you on then play the victim. She started talking to me first so I’m not at fault for anything asking how old I am I give her my age she says I know you get that all the time oh I thought you were like 21. So I talked a little then resume my work witch she came to help I didn’t ask for it so before hand just all these looks I get. And yes I know it’s just a game my buddy tells me it’s just conversation not trying to lead you on. But why act like you’re nervous about talking to me and if it’s not that she is interested or leading me on why not have conversation with someone else. So today I’m working near her area starts to smile but turns the other way so she probably thinks well I hope he doesn’t think I want him or something like that I just know it’s negative. Why do you want to have a conversation with me out of all people and if it’s not that you like me it shouldn’t matter I don’t have to talk to you. I’m not a social butterfly I’m not popular at the job at all nobody special or nothing special about me I don’t even go out my way to talk to anybody. So that only leaves me with one answer she is trying to lead me on and have gotten this before couple times so I know it to be true. I rather not have conversations unless it’s some interest I help if needed and that’s all I need to do.

Just from your details I can already tell what she is and I'm telling you right now to avoid her. Seen this situation a bunch on past jobs. Women in the workplace do this all the time, it's not a new thing and you are not the only guy it's happened to. Guys call these kinds of females "thirst traps." They're basically just playing you or stringing you along so they can use you for whatever means, whether it's trying to get you close enough to them or even their personal life so you can buy them things, or even just to make them look good at work, or to use you to make some other guy jealous who you may or may not know anything about. You start dating or even have a sexual encounter and then later on she's telling a story to get people to hate you or get you fired when she's over you.

She is just flirting and acting a certain way with you up and down as a way of trying to have control over you and the entire situation. We also don't know if she's married or not either, and if she is it would explain the game playing even more, cuz she might be unhappy in her marriage.

Most likely she is leading you on. Simply ignore her and only talk about professional issues and never ever share anything personal such as phone number, age, social status and the like. Those are all things that people can have a grip on you to profile you in a way or another.

Simply be courteous at work and let her know that you are not interested in her or to flirt with her. One never flirts with a coworker as this ultimately will lead to issues at work such as jealousy or preferred treatment. That is not something you want to get involved with.
