My lady and I broke up a few weeks ago, and this weekend is a formal dinner gathering for neurologists and psychiatrists in my city, sponsored by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. I didn’t want to go alone, though I very well could have, so I invited someone who’s taken but she has agreed to come with me.
She won’t be taken long because I can easily pull her away from him. I have much more to her taste than he does. Haha.
So I’m just curious what the ladies on here think.
If you were taken and a young doctor asked you to this kind of formal high-status event, would you go?

What Girls Said
Depends on HOW I know the guy. He has to be a friend who gets that NOTHING is going to happen regardless of drinking or assumptions or whatever else happens to be swirling around in the social vortex we're entering. The "I can trust him with my eyes closed or my back turned" guy.
Usually it's also someone who my guy has already met and knows well enough that they're not in some "warring ram" status over me.
I have to do it all the time in my line of work. It is impossible to simply fail to attend significant meetings and business luncheons.
I’m asking if you’d go with a guy to something in his line of work.
