m 5 moone of my very best and close friends is "a vegan" and always has been, since birth
and I spent around six years, hanging out with her and other friends almost every single day (school days) and for her to be a vegan, and the rest of three... not being vegans, was not a big deal, was never really an issue
she never told us what to do, no rants, no drama... being "vegan" wasn't her personality, lol... was not a performance, it was just how she grew up and then how she decided to continue to live her life for herself, and so... I don't have a problem with that
another aspect of this was, the so many things I ate at her place, in which she cooked or her family, and the food was always great... GREAT great food, never tried to pass for meat, not pretentious, not boring... it was just tasty "normal" home made food, that didn't have animal produce, that's all
so, in my experience... I know I could date or even marry someone like her... AS LONG as they don't try to force me or lecture me about what I should do or not do, nor how... lol10 Reply

5 moYes. It might make things a bit more difficult but it's not a deal breaker if everything else matches well. As long as he doesn't try to convert me and respects my choice it's all good.

5 moYES, my ideal partner would be vegan. I have been a vegan since 2015. Vegan food is everyday food---nature's bakery!🍒

5 moI consider myself a bit of a health nut. I'm always up to date on the newest health news (not going to say facts because it changes all the time). But I've come to the conclusion that humans thrive most on the omnivore diet. There are certain nutrients that you can find in meats that you can't in veggies and vice-versa. And they have different absorption rates as well. Your diet should consist of meat, veggies, as little carbs as possible, and as little sugar as possible.
Would I date a vegan? Yes. I'd respect their way of life as long as they don't force it on me. Vegans tend to have the narrative that you don't love animals as much as them because you eat them and hold that over you. Would it be likely for me to date one? Honestly, I'm attracted to nature lovers and there seems to be a correlation to vegan, so there's a chance I will.20 Reply
5 moBeing a vegan is a personal choice. But no…. Not that I hate vegans. But we just wouldn’t be compatible. I like meat…. I like hunting. Fishing. Etc…
I doubt it would work. Never say never… But I doubt it.30 Reply1.2K opinions shared on Dating topic. Well, I've been largely plant based for the past 10 years.
I probably wouldn't, or it would cause issues. Or sure, I'd likely date her, but I bet she wouldn't last on that diet.
I don't think veganism is healthy into the long-term, and most balanced spiritual people I know do not advocate full veganism. What probably happens is a lot of people overconsume animal products which to oversimplify may be 'yang' or 'strengthening', so they go vegan, feel great because it is cleansing or yin. But then of course they become increasingly yin and fall out of balance again. I think the body wants to maintain dynamic homoestasis, and it largely does that through food. ie at certain times if you've eaten too much meat, you crave anti oxidents, ie fruit and veg; if you eat too much fruit and veg you crave animal products. If you deny your body what it instinctively wants, that's not healthy. Plus if I'm eating plant based it basically feels I'm getting my protein solely from beans and nuts. Which again, doesn't seem varied/healthy.

4 monot unless I was, which I was at one time long ago, around your age. I at times lose my desire for meaty stuff, but was raised on it and I generally feel better now than when I was veg and vegan. not everyone is the same disposition. There was a time meat disgusted me, primarily because of our food systems abuse, so we try to buy from more respectable sources. I still get sad going those Asian markets, looking at the fish and seeing them die in a few whacks, and the turtles and such. it really grosses me out seeing people eat raw stuff, and squid cooked in dogh balls, etc.. ugh, asia was a nightmare at times.
she'd have to tolerate me eating what I want, and in my experience, that is hard. The smell of cooking and what to eat stress and all, probably not worth it for either. Stress kills relationships.
I really like my wife and I are eating better and focusing on health nutrition and such, making more bean dishes and being as smart as we can, and it isn't stressful, it's fun. It's not extreme, it's just focusing on what works for us... and what works changes over time.
So anything is possible, but you gotta be open minded.

5 moMy experience of vegans is that they do not only NOT eat meat but they also “judge” those that do. From comments that are ‘supposed’ to be funny but are more passive aggressive to correlating a persons desire to eat meat incorrectly with whatever negative traits / opinions / beliefs they feel appropriate I. e men , meat eating , cavemen attitudes … blah blah bullshit.
So given my experience my guy says not but I’d like to be optimistic so if I was to be single and meet a more liberal vegan then I don’t see why not , as long as she can cook my steak how I like it.20 Reply 19.3K opinions shared on Dating topic. Too many complications. You can never share food with your partner and enjoy the nice fine steak at a steak restaurant or at home Then she is always gonna give you that look Do you need that or are you gonna eat all that. She’s gonna constantly be trying to brainwash me and serve me up her vegan dishes and try to control me sooner or later she’ll do the same thing with the kids. It will never stop and I can never enjoy barbecues or eating hamburgers or steaks. I don’t like eating vegetables all day, long and beans for protein that’s not enough. I enjoy vegetables, but I also like my protein and a nice high-quality steak and some meat and I like chicken and turkey too. I don’t want to be controlled and feel guilty every time we eat dinner
10 Reply2.1K opinions shared on Dating topic. I don’t think so
Being vegan is not a dietary preference like being a vegetarian
It’s a whole ideology about how humans shouldn’t kill and eat animals
And me I’m a huge meat eater
In fact I went on a carnivore diet a couple of years back and lost a lot of weight and gained a lot of health benefits (I’m off it now)
We would never get along
The only bonus would be that a fiber diet eliminates all tastes and smells from the private areas of a woman’s body
So it would make going down on her actually enjoyable
But it’s not enough to build a relationship upon00 Reply2.2K opinions shared on Dating topic. No, I wouldn't!.

As for me I would absolutely date a vegan if she didn’t have a problem with me eating a rack of ribs. As for marriage that bullshit isn’t for me & although I have never been married I don’t want to get married especially nowadays.

5 moI always thought no, but the older I get the more i like bright, colorful, healthy foods. Id date a vegan and i would honestly like to try to eat more meals like that.
However, at the end of the day my favorite food is steak, and currently I can't see myself given up on meat. Even if I had to provide it for myself.
I would try their way, they dont have to try mine, but I need the same respect. Then, that relationship could work.10 Reply2.2K opinions shared on Dating topic. No cause our personalities would clash unless she just don't like the taste of meat but... then you probably wouldn't be a vegan just a vegetarian.
Because I doubt there is someone who really don't find anything with some animal product in yummy whether it be sweets, cake or whatever.10 Reply- 1.1K opinions shared on Dating topic.
4 moDepends. If they are a vegan because they are uneducated and think "killing animals is cruelty" instead of necessary, then nope. If they do it because they "believe" it is healthier for them, as long as they don't try and make me a vegan, that is fine.

5 moI dated a vegan and never had issues. I'll say one thing, she had the most amazing body. This was when I was 18. I saw her about a year ago, she has put on a lot of weight, so I really curious if she's still a vegan.
10 Reply1.9K opinions shared on Dating topic. Unlikely but possible if she's fine with both me and our kids eating meat. But I expect it to be an incompatibility since I doubt she will agree to that.

m 5 moI don't see why I would be anti-vegan and, on a practical level, managing separate meals is fairly easy in the first world of supermarkets lol
10 Reply 8.4K opinions shared on Dating topic. I would. She would just have to watch me eat a nice juicy steak while she chokes down a big pile of kale.

But it pretty bothers when we prepare foods or go out to eat, also we can’t share foods with them.

My dad doesn't like the taste of meat a lot, so we've always seperated it. Never a big deal.
It's not a religion or an allergy, sometimes you get some meat or animal products in your food. If you're paranoid about it like you'll die if you have some; Yeah, that'll make things difficult. But we can be conscious about it.
Really no big deal to me at least, just be realistic.
5 moSure, as long as I may eat what I want to and he not force his ways of eating on me.
