Living at home?

Girls, is it a turn off if you meet a guy who’s in his 30’s and you find out that he still lives at home?

Yes and no.

It depends on the circumstances nowadays. For instance, a guy had his mom move in with him when she fell and broke her hip... he's in his mid-40s and single. It makes dating very short-term bc who is he bringing back to the bachelor pad where his mom is staying? Nobody. It involves a string of hotels and other things.

I know a group of brothers who "lived at home" bc they worked in an industry where they constantly traveled. They basically used their childhood home as storage and stayed there the weeks they weren't working. It made no sense to waste money renting/owning a space that wouldn't be used most of the year.

But outside of those two circumstances, a guy over 35, let's say, should have his own little place, however small.

I assume most will gravitate to yes but it will also depend on why. In my country you need to pay half a million for a house, so singles can't afford it and less than half of couples can. So chances are he's at home because he'd like to own a house together and saving up at home is a better strategy than overpaying on the rental market.
