I owned my first home when I was 23, purchased it for $125,000, it was a two bedroom house overlooking the main street in the town I live in. I bought it as a fixer upper and worked on it for six years. I was really lucky, because I bought my 2nd home while things were low and rented my first home out.
Once the real estate picked up I sold the rental and made half of what it was worth in a bidding war between three couples. I put that down on my 2nd home. Did the same thing with my 2nd home, and bought my 3rd home which I am presently in.
Nice thing is no capital gains tax on selling your home so the government could not tax me on the proceeds of selling them.
I have been in my present home for the last 18 years and it is paid for.
I do not envy the 20 to 30 year old crowd today, really tough to get a downpayment with living expenses the way things are.
I wish I was still living with my parents ‘ lol , I own a home , that I am proud of cuz I worked my ass off for it , but now that I am struggling to land a job , I might have to sell it , if I can’t land something soon , Owning a home is nice and it has it’s positives , but it also has negatives as well , My plan is to fix up the house some more and sell it eventually for a nice profit , and then downgrade and travel
Pretty obvious for me. Although I don't like it, I have to live in this stupid ass house. Thankfully there's a lot of land in my yard so I can go and relax outside.
Appreciate where you are... not many have a roof over their heads
I live with my husband and our two children in our own home.

I own my own house, moved out of home when I went to Uni.
Me too. But i moved back in for a year with them after to save up for a down payment on my house
I think owning your own place is one of the biggest and best moves a person can do
After years of struggling in CA I moved back to TX with less than two thousand dollars left. Four years later after working my behind off I bought my own home, a nice car, and never looked back. Parents passed years ago.
I live in a studio flat which I rent, and this will be roughly the situation until I die, as I could never afford to buy a home here. Not in my entire lifespan. It isn't like I'm impoverished or anything either. Houses here are just that expensive, and there are no legal restrictions in place on landlords hiking up prices.
I'm 19 and in college so I live with my mom in the summer when I'm not in school in a dorm
That’s how I did it. Lived in the dorms while in college and back home during the summer
I live in my own waterfront house with a screened pool
@BarryLiverstone Thank you for the Like
You are welcome
Moved out of the parental home when I was 22. In my opinion the sooner the better. I do understand that people want to get on the property ladder so easier to save whilst still with the parents generally speaking although depends on finances obvs
With my boyfriend part time and at my apartment sometimes lol.
I have been living on my own since I was 20. Own my house.
I live at home with my cat in the house I inherited from my paternal grandfather. My parents also both lived here - my dad had a life trust on it - but both passed away before I turned 20.
They live with me in my house and watch it while I work in another city. They have their own space with a kitchen, bathroom, etc.
I moved out of my parents house when I was 18 years old. My parents are no longer around
I live with roommates
Do you ever miss your own bed? 🛏️ I mean moving out must've taken years to adapt to a new bed 🛏️
I mean adapting from your bedroom bed to then living in a new bed in a new surroundings ; whenever I've stayed in hotels or Airbnb's I've always enjoyed coming home to my familiar bed bed 🛏️😄 must just be me 🥱 no matter how comfy or newer they may be
That's understandable - ☺️ may i ask - as you're now 27 - how are you finding, as I've found, aging aka I turned 30 this year and by 28 onwards i started to notice I was getting rounder and I was amazed as two years earlier than people said, I was in the declining 30s lol "it's all downhill or weight gain or aging from 30 lol" - how about yourself? Or are you not noticing that
My husband and I love together in our own house
