I'm a light-skinned Black girl, and this light-skinned Mexican guy with curly hair said, “You like white boys,” just because my profile says I love pale and tan guys. I told him I prefer non-Black guys more, and he acted like I was lying. I mentioned that some of my past crushes were Mexican, and that I had dated an Indian and a Bengali guy. He asked for proof of the Indian boyfriend, and I explained that we never took pictures together.
I asked him why he was questioning me, and he said it was just playful banter. But I replied, “Nah, do you realize how many Black men argue with me about this?” He just said, “It’s just banter, shut your pretty ass up.”

Honestly, it sounds like he was just being insecure and trying to control your preferences. There’s nothing wrong with liking whoever you’re attracted to—race doesn’t define that.
