Okay so I just turned 36 almost three months ago and I haven’t dated since I was like 21/22 years old back in 2011. The only relationship I’ve had was with a guy that I went to school with. We’ve known each other since we were kids, we talked and we reunited in 2011 after about 11-12 years. We all had a group outing.
One of my friends encouraged me to ask him out. I was nervous but I asked and he said “well I would have to say….. yes I will go out with you.”
So we went to get frozen yogurt and walked around so basically that was our first date. Then later we became a couple. Things were going great until things went downhill three months later. I’m not going into detail. He was a jerk but parts of it was my fault too. We broke up. He was my first ever boyfriend and love.
After a a few years later, I talked to other guys, even had a crush on one of the guys in one of my college classes but was too much of a coward to talk to him. Some guys likes me but I always liked someone else or rejected them. My friend introduced me to a guy but he lived in another start and I wasn’t so sure about the long distance thing but I decided to give him a chance. He texted me everyday a couple times say very sweet good morning texts and I texted him back but unfortunately things didn’t go that far and he ended up meeting someone else in his home state. We weren’t dating anyway. It was probably for the best. This was around 2016 I think. I decided to take myself out of dating and focus on myself and maturing. Now I’m 36, still single, working full time, taking an online college course in university. My coworkers asked has any man snagged or/did any dating? One said, “Girl we gotta find you a man?”
Sometimes I wish I was a kid again. Kids don’t have to worry about being asked if they found a man/woman yet or adult responsibilities.
I don’t think I’ll ever find the one for me. Sorry my rant is long.
