It took me about a month of talking to each of my partners respectively before ever feeling comfortable enough for a date. Dates usually come with expectations that I am just not prepared to do with someone I don't know well enough yet. It's kind of like a pre-date before the actual event. We can move past all the small details in the pre-date phase so that when we get to the actual date, we can see if there is any chemistry visually/physically.

Plus, I want to feel emotionally safer with the person I am going out with before I trust them with some of my physical safety.

I prefer to wait until I know him better before committing to date him. You can only know so much from one meeting. I think it's better to not rush into a relationship with someone you just met.
