What’s a personal risk you took that secretly paid off big?

As a student, I am usually broke or very low on funds. A few months ago, I decided to play the lottery because I had a good feeling. Call it women's intuition, so I invested the equivalent of $3 to play. I never ever play at the lottery because the odds of winning are very small.

Guess my surprise when I found out that I got some numbers right and that my investment paid out 5 fold. I am now $12 richer than before I played. That was awesome but I will not play anymore. I don't like wasting money and throw it out of the window.

Almost every risk I have taken with potential for better has paid off from quitting a job I have hated, dating someone i was told I shouldn't have, to the first time I went skydiving. Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger or smarter or helps you understand what you not to do next time when it is a disaster.. When you say yes to life you get more yes and less no.
