How do I start talking to a popular guy on Instagram who doesn’t know me?

So I randomly found this really cute guy online and instantly liked him. His account is public and he has like 4k followers, mostly girls since he’s really attractive. We also kind of have a mutual connection, he’s my bsf’s guy best friend’s junior, so not super close but still there.

Also I found out the guy bsf is a part of an NGO and told me my crush apparently never misses it… but I really don’t want my first interaction with him to be there 😭 (unless there's no other way)

Now I just don’t know how to start talking to him or if he’d even follow me back because of how many girls litr follow him on insta all the time

What would you do in this situation?

Sounds like the reverse of a guy who wants to talk to some girl with thousands of male followers. If you really want to talk to him, then talk to him. Tell him that you and him are connected to the same people if you feel like that will help or make him want to take you more seriously.

But question: if this guy didn't have those 4k followers who were mostly women, maybe he only had 100 - 200, would you still want to talk to him?

so thing is, i forgot to mention this: he barely follows any girls from his side litr 3 or 4. and I don't know how to actually start a convo unless we do irl.
if he had only 100-200 followers that wouldve been EASYY to talk, id do it easily. he prolly gets lots of dms of girls being all over him so the fear of him ignoring my text thinking me as the rest of the girls is litr what makes me afraid, also yk i feel like i know him already. like i saw his early teen pictures and i swear I've met him or seen him before bcs he's wayyyy too familiar

Okay good to know. I honestly am not sure exactly how you should initiate a conversation with him. Only best thing I can think of is to mention that you both kinda know the same people, and even then there's no guarantee he'll want to talk. If he's good looking and has all those followers, I imagine he's probably no different than girls with the same thing. He likely thinks highly of himself for being popular. I personally would not really try to spend the time on him honestly.

If it's someone using an IG account to portray himself, then I would have to tap into his narcissistic desires. Except I can't do that in the middle of a 4k crowd. So I would try another approach, which is to build a similar amount of following, to make him see that we're navigating in the world the same way. To create something he would relate to.

If it's someone not using an IG account to portray himself, then it's much easier a quest, to me, at least. But only if the topic he focuses on is one I truly like. So I'd just have to show him, through public comments, and consistently over time, that I have some insight about that topic as well. In order for him to notice me.

Tbh I think it’s hard bc I’m sure just as any girl with enough attention, not looking for validation with enough confidence, and has standards …this is just another number and person generally…so what makes you stand out?
I think just be your charming and authentic self :) likes his story and comment on it to add connection and catch his attention. If he don’t read it (as he may have many msgs) or don’t reply, try to have your mutual set up a group hang out lol.
