Does dating suck as you get older?

Question

I'm a young lady and from what I've seen, vast majority of old people (both men and women) have no interest in dating other old people around their own age. They all want someone younger around their children's age. Lotta them won't admit it but it's true. As people get older, they are also more likely they are to isolate themselves from the world. Stop making friends, stop going out which hinders dating.

I find that most people don't tend to lower their standards as they get older despite the wrinklier, balder, uglier and fatter they get

I’ll tell you how it is from my point of view. I’ve never been married. I don’t have kids. I just had one long term relationship. I’m single I would like to Have a wife and somebody that can still have kids so of course I’m not gonna date my same age because they can’t have kids and plus the maturity levels a lot different women are a lot more mature than men at the same age even when younger and I have a lot of energy and a lot of athleticism I like to get out and do things not just laying around the house and go watch a movie and call it a night. I like to live on the edge and do stuff so I need a young energize woman plus when I get to be an old man, she can take care of me instead of putting me in a nursing home and then in return she’ll have my inheritance. Plus a nice house. That’s what I’ve seen it worked before in my family. I will carry that on if even possible if I can actually find somebody it’s very hard in these times of Times, everybody is selfish and wants everything for themselves. Many people are wishy-washy confused and don’t know what they want and I can’t deal with that any longer. So I may have no choice, but to remain a lone solo wolf 🐺

it's definitely gotten a lot harder when your older, it's changed so much and it's not as easy to mind a lady to fall in love with as it was when i as younger, it's like world went out and got a haircut and changed it's appearance.

Mm I mean people usually have kids around my age, so if you’re divorced you have some baggage that’s isn’t really that appealing. Most men at the end of the day don’t want raise another man’s kids. Plus they likely still have to manage a relationship with their ex. Of course exceptions are made. My wife has a step dad who has been raising her since she was 4 years old. Amazing father. Younger people are also more malleable. Older people are stuck in their ways and are less likely to adapt to you, so it has to be almost a perfect match. I met my wife when she was 16 so we really grew into each other despite be much different. Also that young love is powerful man. That connection you feel when you’re young and in love really can last a lifetime and keeps you bonded through thick and thin.

I guess I'm living proof of having not yet been kissed at my ripe old 30s age, yet I'm not troubled by it, merely stating facts.

After all - other priorities took my time, a job, or job finding, having to balance Coronavirus, the various recessions of 2008 and 2020, political changes of governments.

I still enjoy it. And... my lower threshold is mid 40's at best. I find "younger" ladies to be... incomplete. Where: to suck is not necessarily a disadvantage. But also not the ultimate goal. 🫢

I don’t think that’s common… I don't know anyone personally who’s just targeting very young age to date. But as for me, I’m open to those who’s emotionally mature and vibes with me.

I have never heard any complaints from people I know, but most have been in relationships or married for many years. My dating days were over by the time I turned 20.

It doesn't necessarily suck, just more of a been there done that mindset.

The older you get the more you realize protecting your energy is much more fulfilling than just giving it away to people who have done nothing to deserve it.

I’m not sure. My parents split up for a while in their forties and had no problem finding dates, but my dad did mostly date girls a lot younger than himself.
