At a conference, I don’t know this guy personally—he was on the band.
One time I was leaving the bathroom and as I turned the corner he saw me. His eyes got wide, he smiled, and waved at me while still walking with the band.
Another time later that same conference, I was on an elevator and when the doors opened we made eye contact and he smiled at me again.
Then about a year later at the same conference, I walked past him and caught him grinning to himself after noticing me.
Guys/girls, how would you interpret how he viewed me? Like would this come off as just “she’s cute,” “pretty,” “beautiful,” etc? Or is it not really possible to tell from behavior like this?

Besides the waving part, I did all of that with a beautiful girl. I know how it seems, but I wasn't joking or lying.
Why not just approach her then?
She made me too anxious. I wanted to, but I waited too long. I kept saying I'll do it at a better opportunity. She disappeared before I ever did.
Maybe I should approach him then if I see him at this conference again?

I did something similar with my crush, but I'm terrible at flirting. It definitely sounds like he is interested but maybe he is shy and inexperienced with women.
He’s a very handsome guy tho, so I don't know why he’d be so shy
You don't know his past. Maybe he had bad acne or braces when he was younger.
