Romance is a fairly new concept. Traditionally marriage was about economic and political alliances. Before marriage our ancestors selected mates for proliferation of the species. “Romance” had nothing to do with it. Mating has always been about creating the strongest families and offspring that are most likely to carry on the bloodline. This is also why recent ancestors often had so many children. Kids died. It was a numbers game.
The term “romance” as we use it today was really born in the late medieval period and literally translated as “vulgar tongue”. The thought of marrying for love was a lowly notion. The elites never even considered it.
We haven’t come that far. There are plenty of wealthy families that scoff at all these broke b*tches marrying and divorcing repeatedly. Ell oh ell! That’s what marrying for love gets you. As soon as you fall out of love, the marriage ends and a family is destroyed. When the family was the reason for marriage, people made it work, for better or for worse. When generational wealth was the goal, families stayed together and worked toward the same goals. Now people, women in particular, think they ought to be able to achieve generational wealth in a single lifetime with zero loyalty to any spouse or even their own kids. That’s just not how it works for most people.

They want the man for the short term for his resources / a fun escape (he has his own place, his own car, he's 30 or 35 max) lol looks maxing. Lol.

Versus say a 20 year old man who's not even moved out or owns a car besides a bike at best 😆🫠
