This has happened to me a couple of times and I'm sure to many other people as well and that is when it comes to dating apps such as Tinder or Bumble or Hinge.
a match will stop replying to your messages but at the same time they will keep you in their match list.
Why do you think that happens? because naturally you would think that the normal thing to do if someone is no longer interested in you on a dating app, would be to just unmatch the other person.
to sum it up, if you're not interested in me anymore don't get me wrong that's your right, I would prefer if you unmatched me instead instead of just keeping me in your matchbox or match list and just no longer replying.

There is no dating app etiquette, a match either works out or it doesn’t. I personally wouldn’t invest enough emotion into a stranger to care whether or not they don’t remove the match if we aren’t talking. I wouldn’t fixate on it when I could just delete them myself. I think if anything that’d be more of a frustration for me to sort out, that frustration most likely being not having success in those apps in general.
Maybe they like having lots of matches on their profile? Not saying it's right but that could be a reason
No clue but if someone doesn't reply after a match, I just block and move on.
