Why do guys (on dating apps) initiate to meet and then ghost you?

So yeah, I have done this to woman. Every woman you connect with you try to initiate to meet in real life. But the hard that becomes, or more difficutl or reluctant she is the faster a guy loses interest.

I mean as a man I can't not put any real value on a conversation or texting, until I meet them in person, and if they want to string it a long in text for days and weeks and are not willing to sit down for cup of coffee and short meet and greet, then yeah someone else pops up who is willing to meet, I might ghost.

If things don't work out, I might come back around.

Because they changed their opinion and are not interested any more. At first there was something that caught their interest but that wasn't strong enough to make them fall in love. So they chose ghosting as a way to end it because they didn't see the necessity to confront you with the situation.

Yes, there is high probability they found someone else, they think better. Other reasons - plans have changed, maybe something important, etc.
