Is my bartender actually interested in me or just being friendly?

I am wondering if my bartender is interested in me? I always frequent the same bar and the bar is not usually busy when I go there. The bartender smiled to himself when he saw me, then he made a some comments on how I always order a particular drink all the time and that he notices and sees me. What really made me think he might be interested was the face that he smiled to himself when he saw me but I don't know if I am overreacting?

You say you always frequent that bar, so it makes sense for him to start remembering and acknowledging you somehow. I don’t see anything significant about the encounter itself, as everyone else said, it seems friendly.

Don’t get ahead of yourself. He’s doing his job. Of course if you frequent the same bar he’s going to remember you as well as what you drink. It makes for good customer service, for patrons to return cause they always get treated good, staff o owes their name, etc, etc. You also mentioned that it’s usually not busy as well so less to remember about people when you’re there compared to other days when it’s busier. Plus maybe he’s working for a good tip.

He’s just doing his job. Bartending you got to be friendly and communicative in order to get those tips.

Good bartenders get to know their regulars. If you want a date ask him. He won't ask you because it's unprofessional for servers to hit on customers.

They are paid to be friendly. They want their customers to come back.

It's in his best interest to be nice to you, so he gets a nice tip. This is especially true because you are a regular.
