Should I give my childhood friend who hurt me another chance?

Basically me and this guy have been friends since we were kids and i loved him since I was a child in 12th grade i finally told him that I did and he was shocked at first and i told him that its ohk if he wants to be just friends but pls don't break the friendship he said ohk fast forward few years and I was the one putting the most efforts and he used to sometimes be romantic sometimes be cold and we weren't even officially dating or something and I was completely obsessed now he blocked me and all for 9 months or so and i kinda moved on from all of it cause I can't explain in detail exactly but his behavior hurt me a lot and broke me mentally completely after me moving on he comes back in my life and is like I have changed and all and I see he has changed but I just don't feel the same for him anymore I don't know why I told him and he understood but then broke and threw everything I gave him then he now sends me reels such as he regrets hurting me and he lost me when he loved me the most etc etc my question should I give him another chance

I don’t get it, is he saying he’s changed as in he’s interested in being more than friends now? Otherwise, what is there to change? It doesn’t sound like there was any problem aside from that…

The problem was that at that point he treated me like he wanted me then when he felt like he was rude and would say rubbish to me I am not saying people don't fight i am just saying that he did it sooo much that it completely ruined my mental health and towards the ending he would say things like he will find someone better etc etc

So if you were to give him another chance, what would be different? Does he want to pursue a relationship?

Eh you broke a boundary by crossing the friendship line and he didn't know how to handle it. You are emotionally unhealthy if you can't separate your feelings between friends and romantic relationships

Tbh I don't know I mean it can work out but now I don't feel the same for him after like almost being in love with him for 12 years and being treated so badly I don't feel the same I care for him and I want whats best for him I just dk what to do I always wanted him but when my feelings were dismissed I kinda stopped i just feel numb
