Guys, would you date a MUCH MUCH older woman?

I walked into a place and a guy was sitting next to a gal who was old enough to be his mom. Very Ruth Ginsberg look about her while he was very clean-cut guy with a touch of salt-and-pepper hair. We were chatting about the food at the place for a moment, but she ignored me completely, so I left them to their conversation. Gradually I realized that they were on a date.

I kept to myself, not wanting to intrude...

After perhaps an hour or two she got up, said her goodbyes... and left. The guy had about two more glasses of chianti before leaving. And though he had been completely engrossed in chatting with her, when she left he breathed and just sat quietly for a bit, completely enthralled by his wine. Ultimately he started chatting up the other single guy to his right, losing himself to dry political chatter.

Their energy was completely different. She was so uptight and clutching her purse, having only a glass of water the whole time, while he was my age, mellow tech bro energy... it was a strange association in my opinion. they didn't even seem to have much in common other than their love of the little corner they were occupying.

Personally, I would have been sad to be in a situation like that... an older woman with a guy surrounded by women either his age or younger. I don't blame her for leaving.
