Why do girls want 6 ft + tall guys on dating sites?

On dating sites I notice many girls put 6 ft to 6'11 for "their date." Does this mean she won't consider a guy any shorter or did they just pick a height without thinking too much into it?

6 ft is a little ridiculous especially for a girl that is 5'5...

The picture our society creates of the perfect couple usually involves a guy that is 6ft and taller with the demure, and considerably shorter girl looking up at him wrapped up in the safety of us his arms. When you consider the fact that many of us care about what others think about who we're dating, you're going to want to create that perfect picture. All those reasons about wanting to be able to wear heels, feeling safer or thinking he has a bigger penis are all red herrings.

The reality is, the average height for a male in America is 5'9. If all these women are standing in line to get a guy whose at 6ft or taller, no wonder there are so many chronically single chicks running around here. Ladies, just because he's short, doesn't mean everything else is. Trust me.

Personally, I think most girls would prefer a guy who is taller than they are. Girls have those fantasies of looking up into the eyes of a guy she loves and having him kiss her. Girls like to look up to guys when they kiss. Also, it may have to do with the fact that if the guy is taller, it's more of a dominance thing and having the guy be in control. It have nothing to do with the thing about "being taller, bigger d***"...

I like shorter guys but yes most girls like tall guys. I'm only 4' 10 so ide rather the guy to be short.

I bet it has to do with the general thought that: taller guy, bigger d***.

I'm pretty sure that while there may be some kind of correlation there, its not true all the time.

So when girls put that (that is, when girls who arn't very tall themselves put that) that might be a reason.

It is known that women who specify height in dating ads tend to specify height. However, unless prompted, most don't specify a height.

So it may be that a subset of women, especially those who are tall, are looking for taller then average men, and most women are happy with average.

I don't mind girls choosing tall guys as a preference at all. Personally, I'd like a weight discosure in all online dating sites, because I'm tired of seeing how fat some girls really are though they said they had 'average' or 'fit' bodies! Also, a lot of them are putting pictures that are like 10 years old, wtf?

im 5'7 and I like guys who are 6'3 and taller. the last 2 guys I was talking to were 6'6 and 6'4. some girls like tall guys. its a preference

How about you get over your inferiority complex and develop some confidence. I've actually had much success in long term relationships with women who are attractive both physically and attractive as an inner person as well. I am not ugly as "f***" or whatever you're trying to accomplish with your insults. You aren't getting any taller, so use other aspects to attract women. Clearly your attitude needs some work.
