What to do about a creep who keeps texting me?

There is this guy who will text me at random saying Hey, what's up,etc and his story every time is that he has my number saved in his phone but didn't save the name and he "thinks it is someone from his college" its weird. He lives in my state (I looked up the number) and he will text me every 2-4 months and if I confront him and telling him to stop texting me he acts as if he has never texted me before. Sometimes he acts like a "nice guy" then sometimes he is aggressive and rude. I honest to god think its my ex-boyfriend because he does have this number and I deleted his and he knows that so I have no way of knowing if its his but he is a sad lonely manipulative little freak and this is so something he would do but I don't know for sure I'm getting a new phone with a new number in about 2 months so I don't know if I should just truck through it and ignore the texts or what? what do I do?

This is what I said when my ex kept texting me and ringing me at like 2am:

'FUCK OFF YOU SAD PATHETIC LOSER. I'M CLEARLY NOT INTETRESTED YOU MUG' then I sent another one much nicer 'Please leave me alone. This is a warning.' then that was it. If you give a warning you have a good chance when the police need to get involved.

Ignore it and change your number! Or, call your phone company and have his number blocked. Stalkers are so annoying, silence is the best answer.
