So I've been chatting to this guy for 4 months now and gone on dates with him. I'm thinking it's all going really well. We met at our local sports club. My cousin however found him on Bumble and tinder 2 weeks ago. He said he doesn't use them and forgot they were still active.

I'm a but worried, he still hasn't deleted them...

What's going on?

I met this guy online a few years ago from a dating website. He is from England and I’m from USA, and we dated online at first for a little while. As time went on, he stated his mental health problems and how he couldn’t be in a long distance relationship anymore. I didn’t hold him back so he left, but we had been texting on and off throughout the years. He wishes me a happy birthday and holiday, stuff like that.

within the last few months, we reconnected a lot more like more phone calls to texting. He even admitted to realizing that I might be the girl for him since throughout all these years, no woman near him had made him feel the same as I made him feel. He even had a plan where if we meet up within the next 2 years then we can get married considering how much we both went through. I was flattered but concerned since I didn’t want to get hurt again if he wasn’t ready mentally, so I asked if he was sure. He said he wasn’t and then stopped talking to me for a couple of months for a mental break only to reappear as if nothing happened.

I asked him if he still wanted to do that 2 year plan and he said sure, we text somewhat often still now. But, he told me recently that he joined a dating app just because of boredom and was laughing at how women messaged him for sex. I was confused since based off what he confessed, i should be the only one he needs to be focused on. I’m just nervous now that he’s going to try to date other women before we actually meet up and then have his feelings confused on who he likes more, or just trying to have random encounters in the meantime. I mean I can’t control him but we do have a plan to meet up by the end of this year or next year so I don’t understand why would he do this. Please share your thoughts below, thanks.

Been “dating” this guy for over 8 months, we used to go out on actual dates but now he just comes over and we’ll watch TV while ordering take out. Does this still count as us dating? We’re not official yet by the way.

27F, I’ve officially come to terms with the fact I’ll end up alone. I’ve been on and off the apps for years, I really don’t think I’m that unattractive but the dating apps have indicated otherwise. I get a good bit of matches and guys reach out, it always either dies out or it isn’t reciprocated from the guy or I. I’ve tried almost every app, paid and free. I have one app installed, there was one time last year where I deleted the app for 6 months. Currently, I swipe on profiles maybe every other week or reply to messages 2-3 times per week. I don’t have friends so the apps are my only avenue considering I’m a homebody. I do know they work for some though, people have said I’m cute/attractive etc but guys never approach me in person. I used to purposely hold back and try to play hard to get, now I’m at the point where I have to force myself to open the app and remember to reply to this guy and so forth. I don’t want kids, id be down to get married but really worry about the reality that id have to be sexual knowing guys urges and so. I am not sexual, I haven’t had sex or masturbated in years. Maybe the right guy will change that?
Also, certain things about guys kinda turn me off, almost every guy I’ve known including my dad who I’m close with has dickish/macho tendencies and I don’t have patience for it lol.

TL;DR: does it sound like my dry spell/bad luck with dating apps stem from lack of interest? Or am I bitter?

They say if you’re attracted to a friend more than likely they’re attracted to you back. I’m just curious how true that is.

For me the answer is few.

So I've gone on a few dates with this guy - he's nice, funny, smart, attractive, respectful, and he's a college graduate at age 21. Frankly, we have some chemistry, and he meets all of my criteria. He's kind of shy, so although he's asked me on several dates, it seems unlikely for him to push for anything further.

We met about a year ago, but I was in another relationship, and we were just friends. We had gone on a date beforehand.

Our fifth date is scheduled for tomorrow (July 10). My friends are asking whether or not I want to date him long term, and... I don't know. I guess I'm comparing him to one of my exes, who seemed kind of perfect for me. Some part of me just keeps holding back. On the other hand, if he's not a guy for me, who could be?

Should I pursue a relationship with him? Just see where things go? Or is my hesitancy a sign that he's not right for me?

So whenever my boyfriend and I go out to eat we have tried to split things, If its more than $20-$30 he will sometimes look at me and ask if I want to pay or ask "what should we do" He has paid for things but its for the small things. He's the one with the full time job and I'm getting there to get a job. I have discussed al of this to him and it has gotten better but i still find i'm paying for expensive things. When it comes to gifts he does spend money on me but when it comes to going out he seems to be really cheap. For example: when we went to the movies I paid for the tickets and he paid for the snacks. He ended up going to the game with a friend when tickets were cheaper. So basically i have noticed a pattern of whenever its more than $20-$30 max he will look at me to pay. I am totally down to split things but it's never made me feel "special" when it comes to him taking the initiative especially him with the job and me without a job. I just don't feel special and it feels like he doesn't want to spend money on me which he has but not to when it comes to going out. Is it normal to feel this way or am i being a "diva"?
