Inspired from this question but maybe for a male, it would be different since white women are desired on all skin tones from pale to tan.

I'd say maybe if I was 20 in the 1970s that would be cool. I dont know, I'm black and I feel like there was still a little bit of tradition but it was still pretty colorful and probably pretty fun back then too. I'd probably date a girl from the 70s.

I get it. Its perfectly reasonable to not date an alcoholic and being under the threat of living under a bridge. Its also reasonable to be on the look out to have food at home and the bills being paid. But where do we draw the line between a woman being in it for love and a woman selling her love like a service in order to take advantage of us and the money especially if it was not agreed upon prior?

The Nathan: 6'1 190lbs. He is a hot guy with tattoos on his forearms. This guy works in sales for a music company. He has had a lot of casual sex in the past but wants to settle down with a good girl now. He could be described as a "bad boy" but is exciting and you never know what adventure he might take you on. He owns a motorcycle and loves going out drinking with the boys. He wants to do a bit more traveling before chilling out and getting married.

The Jimmy: 6'0 250 lbs. A big guy. He works in business and plays golf in his free time. He earns a very good living and can give you and your family a good life. He will take you to a comedy club, the aquarium, and introduce you to fun facts you didn't know. He is known for having anger issues and has verbally abused a few of his exes in the past, but it is something he wants to change about himself. He is a hardcore republican and owns a few guns.

The Brandon: 5'9 210 lbs. He is a bit short, but heavy, built like a brick wall, but kind of soft on the outside. This guy has kind of a dynamic personality. he's not a very social guy but at the same time he's the guy that everyone likes. He is the laid back type who cracks jokes and cares about the feelings of others. He works in construction, and often appears "rugged" with his work boots and dirty jeans, and a plaid shirt; however, he has very youthful face and certain "young" features that add a certain vulernerabilty to him. He is a virgin, and has only had one girlfriend his whole life. He has a history of depression, and often has a tendency to procrastinate. But feels that his struggles and insecurities has made him a more empathetic person. He enjoys cooking and building his own furniture. He enjoys the simple things in life and wouldn't hesitate to watch a rom com or read a book on the couch with you.

This is assuming he’s independent, has a good paying job (not rich but above average salary), owns his own house and has an interesting life story.

I’ve tried dating again for the last three months. I’ve gotten one straight but understandable rejection from a girl in her late 20s i met at a CrossFit gym (she’s got a boyfriend). I’ve gotten two flaky rejections on dating apps (both girls in their early 30s). I did get one date with a 35 year old woman. First date started good but it turns she’s an alcoholic (has no problem drinking and driving). I wanted no part of that.

I’m 40. In excellent physical shape for my age and got all my hair. I’m 6ft tall. I’m well traveled and have an interesting past (pro mma fighter). Most women guess I’m 3 to 8 years younger than I really am.

I know dating doesn’t get any easier when you get older. But I have to stay positive (pls don’t say “all the good ones are taken”.).

But seriously I don’t remember it being this tough 10 years ago. Not even close as tough. From 28 to 32 I had a lot of pretty young girls (19 to mid 20s) interested in me. But that definitely isn’t my target age range now. Now I look for women in their late 20s to mid 30s. But why are they such a pain in the ass?
