He might be getting likes from people he doesn't like back, specially when the algorithm decided to fuck with an user and put him against actually bad profiles and bad users, like non-female users or those that give likes to everyone.

Depends. In my last run, I tried giving extra attention to my profile, and my profile was absolutely thrashed by the algorithm. Out of my daily limit of swipes, I could count on my fingers the number of biological women that were shown to me. On top of that, I would still swipe based on my minimum standards, which limits me even further, considering the quality of women's profiles there. I absolutely quit the apps in general, but I regret missing the times where times weren't that bad.

Not just looks- looks are good for first impressions and staring some minor fantasizing depending on the person. Chemistry/ morals/ beliefs are what carry things to further stages and real life stages like marriage etc. anything online is also just a no-go. In person is so much better and a person is better able to read another person in conversation than online. Reading helps everyone understand if they like the book or not 😂👍

Yea its mystery to me too. On online dating sites girls never reply. But I have some female friend who say I look handsome though. Its the sheer overflow of men on these sites. A girl has to choose from 1000 men.
